Quinoa (pronounced “keen-wah”) is an ancient Incan crop known as the “mother of all grains”. Although technically a seed, it is considered a pseudo-grain due to its robust nutritional content and how it’s prepared and eaten. Naturally gluten-free, Quinoa contains protein, iron, and calcium. It is one of only a few plant foods that are considered a complete protein, comprised of all nine essential amino acids, including L-lysine. |Suggested Use||Rinse with cold water before cooking. Add one part quinoa to two parts water (or stock) in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until all water has been absorbed. Fluff with fork before serving.|
